There’s something new to love about the menu at Macayo’s Depot Cantina! Some of founders Wood and Victoria Johnson’s favorite menu items are making a huge beginning January 24 through March 31! The special ‘Oldies from Woody’ promotional menu boasts some tried-and-true menu favorites that helped to make Macayo’s a household name.
Director of Marketing and Brand Management for Macayo’s, Ashley Negron explains, “What we have done is literally pulled some of Woody’s original creations from old, old menus and recipes files. These menu items date all the way back to the 50s and 60s. The prices are not the same as they were but the ingredients and plate presentations are!”
Negron continues, “We are really looking forward to guest’s reactions when they see this menu and the menu items. Just through practicing making these items in our kitchens, our culinary team is already so excited and sharing memories.”
The other side of the menu includes new menu items from Macayo’s own test kitchen at it Scottsdale location. “We are very excited to share these items as well,” states Negron. “We’re looking forward to showing guests how we have expanded some of our skills and can also offer a wider range of more modern Mexican food. The fried avocado and Mexican corn are guest favorites at Shea!”

Family-owned and operated, Macayo’s Mexican Kitchen has been serving fresh, homemade Mexican cuisine since 1946! Still used today, almost 70 years later, are the signature recipes created by original owners Woody and Victoria Johnson. These two were committed to quality ingredients served with a warm and friendly touch.
Woody and Victoria Johnson began Macayo’s in 1946, opening their first restaurant on Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona. That day they established the standards on food quality, freshness and guest experience that continue today. You will taste the tradition at every table, in every dish and every flavorful ingredient! Every family has their secrets, the Johnson’s just happen to be recipes!
